Counsellor Tours

The consortium hosts counsellor tours in the summer for college counsellors to visit and learn more about each of our universities.  The Northern Tour includes Durham, Newcastle and York and the Southern Tour includes Bristol, Southampton and Warwick. Each tour includes a day at each university with days between out in the region to see more of England's unique attractions.

We had a great tour with our 2017 participants and look forward to welcoming the 2018 tour in June/July. Please note: we have closed registration for the 2018 tour. We will send information for the 2019 tour later next year. If you have any questions about this, please contact us directly.

What is included?

Your accommodation for the duration of either/both tours is covered (not including 30th June if participant is doing both tours) along with the meals throughout the week and the outing days between university visits. We provide transportation between the universities on each tour, but not between the two tours. We will provide travel recommendations between the tours.

What will I need to pay for?

Participants will need to pay for their flights to and from the tour. If a participant is doing both tours, they will need to pay for their accommodation on 30th June as well.

Where will I be staying?

The Universities will provide B&B accommodation in a single en-suite bedroom in University residences or a hotel accommodation nearby.

Can I bring my partner with me?

Places on the programme are limited and accommodation is provided to College Guidance Counselors on a single basis so we are unable to accommodate partners in the visit schedule. However, should your partner wish to join you after the visit in order to explore the region or the rest of the UK we will be happy to provide you with lists of local hotels and B&Bs, as well as recommendations about local attractions that you may wish to visit.

Registration for the 2018 Counsellor Tour is closed.
